What questions should I ask the nanny during the interview?

Posted on Feb 19, 2004

I believe in asking a variety of questions. You want to be as certain as you can that the nanny will work well in your home with your family. You want to know about their previous childcare/nanny experience, philosophy of discipline, special skills or interests that would be shared with children, how they handle and diffuse difficult situations with children. You want to know about their family, personality, strengths and weaknesses, and the values most important to them. How would the nanny handle any disagreement or conflict with the family, and what do they see as the their role in the family? Annie’s Nannies provides a list of questions for families to use when interviewing nannies. Give us a call for more information about the interviewing process.
