What hours does a live-out nanny work and what should I pay her?

Posted on Feb 4, 2005

A live-out nanny can be part-time or full-time. Full-time hours are generally between 40 and 55 hours per week. However, be advised that any hours over 40 per week are paid as overtime hours. This is a Federal law regarding domestic workers. When deciding a salary for the nanny, which is usually between $2400 to $3500, you must figure out which part of that salary will be designated as overtime.
