"For the past three years your
agency has been of immeasurable service to me. I wanted to
take this opportunity to thank you for that. With the vastly
disparate needs of my children, my son... and daughter (with
cerebral palsy and general delays) finding the right nanny
has always been a challenge... I have had other agencies that
made me feel it would be impossible to find someone that would
want my job. You saw with great intuition exactly the type
of person that we needed. The nanny that you placed for us
was fabulous - a real God-send."

Frequently Asked Questions
by Families
What
is the Agency fee?
There
is a non-refundable Registration Fee of $250. This
fee covers consultation, search and the registration
of long-term placement and the use of our "Temporary/Short
Term Services". Our professional fee is 12% of
the nanny's gross annual salary or $2500, whichever
is greater. Our fee is due when an offer of employment
has been accepted and an agreed-upon start date has
been confirmed by the employer and employee.
The fee for our service is due if a candidate is hired,
directly or indirectly, by an employer who has listed
their job opening with our Agency.
Employers who introduce our candidates to another employer
will be responsible for payment of the placement fee.
How
long will it take me to find the right Permanent Nanny?
We like
to have a month lead time. However, we have placed Nannies
in as little time as two weeks.
What
type of experience do your Nannies Have?
Most
of our Nannies have been professional Nannies in the
past. However, we also accept people who have good
childcare experience that includes: daycare, preschool,
and lots of babysitting. We require a minimum of three
childcare references.
How
do you screen your Nannies?
We begin
with an in-depth personal interview. We then have the
Nannies fill out extensive paperwork and essay questions.
We speak personally to all of the references and we
have a background screening agency, PFC Information
Services, Inc. who performs criminal background and
driver’s checks on all applicants.
Where
do you find the Nannies?
Most of
our Nannies are local. They come to us through our excellent
word-of-mouth. We also have Nannies from locations outside
of the Seattle area, who are looking to relocate. As
members of the International Nanny Association (INA)
and National Alliance of Professional Nanny Agencies
(APNA), we receive referrals from across the country.
How
much will I need to pay a Nanny?
Fulltime
Nannies make between $2400 and $3500 per month. Part-time
Nannies make between $15 and $20 per hour. Live-In Nannies
make between $1700 and $2400 per month plus room and
board.
Am
I responsible for withholding taxes?
Yes, you
are the employer. Annie’s Nannies Household Staffing
supplies the forms you need in order to withhold taxes.
We also work closely with Breedlove
& Associates, a Domestic Tax Service.
What
do I look for in an Agency?
Look for
an Agency that has been in business for a long time.
They have more experience in screening and have the
ability to detect the more subtle red flags that appear
during the Nanny interview process. It is also important
that an Agency has membership with a national organization,
such as APNA. This organization closely governs the
ethical and professional practices of its member agencies,
and ensures that Families receive the best possible
service.
What
makes Annie’s Nannies stand apart from other agencies?
We have
interviewed and placed thousands of Nannies in the
Puget Sound
area in the 20 plus years that we have been in business.
We pride ourselves on our honesty, integrity
and unparalleled customer service. We believe our professional
actions reflect our ethical beliefs that families deserve
honest answers and excellent resources. We believe
that our long-standing reputation in the community
speaks for itself.
